Oh WonderOh Wonder is just now making an appearance in the US, and they definitely have us interested. Their song "Lose It" is a mellow, slow-grooving tune with touches of R&B and alt-pop, sung by the sweet melodies and simple harmonies of the London-based duo: Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West.

Oh Wonder has been picking up speed recently, with sold out shows in London, Paris, Los Angeles, Amsterdam and New York. Oh Wonder has also gained quite a bit of recognition from numerous blogs and publications, and were the second most blogged band in the world in 2015, with streaming figures going beyond 100 million.

The duo’s self-titled debut album was released in a somewhat unorthodox way. Instating of releasing a single before the entire album, Anthony and Josephine wrote, recorded and released one song every month beginning on September 1, 2014. The monthly releases led to a full album release one year later, plus two extra songs. Even though thirteen of the fifteen songs were available prior to the album release, Oh Wonder still had substantial chart success.

"Lose It" is full of juxtaposition as its lyrics are crying to "Find a place and lose it / You can do it / Won’t you dance with me?", but the structure doesn’t indicate an open room for a wailing sense of letting go; it keeps its composure. It works perfectly, though. The song stays tight and focused as it smooths out, "Move your feet and feel it in the space between / You gotta give yourself a moment, let your body be / We gotta lose it".

We are certain that this song will soon find its way to your television screen. We think that "Lose It" is a match made in heaven for a show like Empire, but could also fit well in something like The Royals. Its universally bold message is one that can enhance any motion picture, and the transparency that "Lose It" creates is certain to make the most out of any scene that it is in.

While tickets for their debut North American tour sold out within minutes, you can still find a place to see Oh Wonder. Head over to their website for more information.
