Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter published an article entitled “New ‘Guardians’ TV Spot Gets Back to What’s Important: Good Music.” The article appropriately praises the film’s director, James Gunn, for his impeccable musical taste, which they argue is evidenced in the film’s several trailers.

According to THR, the latest trailer features The Runaways’ fem-punk track “Cherry Bomb” and is a shift back to the team’s “classic rock” tracks after a “surprisingly orchestral score to the last trailer.” While the article is great, and rightfully attributes the excellent “Intergalactic playlist” construction to Gunn, we thought we’d also take this opportunity to commend the film’s music supervisor and his team.

In this latest Marvel installment, it was only right to bring back veteran supervisor, Dave Jordan, who has been previously involved on most of the individual Avenger films, as well as the collective “Avengers” film. He is joined by Christine Bergren on clearances, Margaret Gardner as music coordinator, and a handful of talented editors.

You can see the latest trailer below, read THR’s article here, and keep your eyes peeled for news on the film set for release this August.
