The internet’s reaction to Shakespeare’s birthday/christening last weekend was amazing; there was the hilarious #Shakespearebands encouraged by CBC music in Canada, BuzzFeed gave us 23 ways to celebrate, and then “master magician Teller (the silent half of Penn and Teller) and playwright Aaron Posner” give us an “unusual” reimagining of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in a new Vegas spectacular.
According to NPR, the show features music by Tom Waits and wife Kathleen Brennan and follows the success of the team’s 2008 Macbeth production. In the production’s opening-night remarks, Teller says “It’s just got about every bit of entertainment you could possibly want.”
The show’s initial Vegas run actually wrapped up the 27th, but it’ll move to the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA from May 11-June 15. Read the details, and see reviews at NPR.org!
