The interactive world of gaming is an often underestimated realm in terms of revenue potential and creative opportunities for music. With an abundance of burgeoning talent on the design and animation fronts, it’s no wonder gaming has also grown into an extraordinary platform for music discovery.
Over the last decade, the gaming industry -- assisted by the rise in popularity of first-person POV games like the wildly popular Call Of Duty franchise, or Assassin’s Creed -- has become a breeding ground for talented composers. To celebrate these accomplishments, last year acclaimed composers James Hannigan and John Broomhall launched their inaugural Game Music Connect.
Last year’s sold-out event will return to London’s Southbank Centre this September 24, and has just announced their keynote speaker as Worldwide Executive and President of EA Music Group for Electronic Arts, Steve Schnur.
