Billboard: Round Hill Music/Gavin Rossdale Acquire Bush Albums

Posted by

It’s been about 15 years since you’ve heard anything about power-rock group, Bush, but with the 2011 release of their first album in a decade, the band has come back swingin’.

Gavin Rossdale

The Sea of Memories, according to an earlier Billboard interview, “Is steeped in the notion that one has to know where they came from to know where they’re going,” but fans can rest assured the band’s signature sound is still evident. The album’s single “The Sound of Winter,” showed the groups elasticity by rocketing to the top of the charts as the first-ever “self-released song to hit No.1 at Alternative Radio.”

That said, the band has had a rocky history with their record label, and Kirtland Records, who according to Billboard “acquired the Bush catalog in 2004,” put up the group’s first four albums for sale.

Just last week, Billboard exclusively reported that those albums have been picked up by Round Hill Music and Bush frontman, Gavin Rossdale in a unique co-ownership deal. The deal reportedly gives the team some creative flexibility and will include a fifth undisclosed title.
