The Never Content is a NYC-based group. We really dig their song "Admired". The dark and brooding, almost haunting melody and production in general, to us, would really appeal to certain genres of films and would also lend itself well to television shows and/or commercials that might need the same type of underscore. Their songwriting and production are very good. Excellent musicianship and vocals too. We really feel like this band has a great deal to offer and you should do yourself a favor and check out their other tunes too!
From their website/bio:
The Never Content is similar to the old French saying “jamais deux sans trois,” which translates into the belief that if an event takes place twice it will probably happen a third time.
The brainchild of three musicians, Joe Tag, (a New York native), Liz Saxon, (a Chi-Town Rep) & Tristan Leral, (a Parisian expat), united forces to create an original sound palate of cinematic, electronic & organic songs, culminating all of their eclectic musical influences. The Never Content is a duo with more to love, some might say.
It all started in 2007 when drummer/writer/producer & all around good guy Joe Tag, a founding member of iconic NY projects such as Buddhafly & Etro Anime, met singer Liz Saxon, who had just landed in New York City after a year long pilgrimage in Japan. The two merged forces in a series of successful performances and decided to lay the foundation for a new project they would call The Never Content. Subsequent studio experiments followed and progressively, the duo managed to narrow down choice of sounds, instrumentation & lyrics they felt matched their initial vision and individual musical likings. Heavily influenced by the daring styles of Massive Attack, Portishead, & Radiohead and the raw, unfettered songwriting of Jeff Buckley, John Lennon & Paul Weller, Joe & Liz called upon Engineer/Producer Tristan Leral (Etro Anime, Mary J Blige, Lizz Fields) to get onboard & help bring their vision to fruition. The result is a dense, emotional journey through musical valleys with electronic textures, organic streams of fluid vocals & airy, cinematic hues which, after a couple years of production, is now ready to meet its listeners & sure to please music aficionados at large.
